Siraj
Wahhaj presents what he believes to be the number one issue challenging
the ummah in modern times: the need for centralized leadership.
Although many people are entering the fold of Islam through conversion,
many life-long Muslims are succumbing to the temptations of secular
life and leaving the deen altogether. And so the imam asks the
question, "How do we maximize the fertile ground of America,
and minimize that back door by which people leave the deen?"
The imam's answer is a fiery speech that captivates the audience
and brings attention to a matter which is so often neglected.
By citing two examples, the initial disunity upon the death of
Prophet Muhammad (P) and the benefit of America uniting its states,
the imam shows how unity and leadership are at the core of true
success for the ummah. Other topics discussed: the importance
of full-time Islamic workers, and racism among some Muslims.
(Duration: 29 min) Bonus Lecture: "Internal Challenges:
Uniting the Ummah" by Siraj Wahhaj... Addresses the issue
with the hope of taking a step closer to the elusive unity which
the ummah has been searching for so long. Muslims seem to argue
over trivial issues while the major issues are often ignored.
How do we fulfill the command to "hold on to the rope of
Allah all together"? Other topics discussed: tolerance,
weak leadership, the idea that one leader would have too much
power, and the need to learn English. (57 min)
